As global demand for high-speed connectivity accelerates, fiber technology is transforming how people live, work, and communicate.
Yet behind every seamless connection lies a complex web of technical processes—especially in the wholesale broadband space. Simplifying that complexity is key to driving innovation, scalability, and better customer experiences.
To address the industry’s complexities, TM Forum’s Catalyst program connects the most influential industry figures to co-create solutions driving industry change through Open APIs, ODA, AI and automation. With our broad expertise in providing FiberCo solutions, ZIRA is actively contributing to Phase 2 of TM Forum’s Catalyst project focused on broadband standardization—specifically the Wholesale Broadband Standardized Product Model & Open APIs (TMF938) for B2B use cases.
The telecom industry today faces a critical challenge: a lack of consistent implementation standards across the access market. This results in service providers having to manage multiple, often incompatible variations of essentially the same product—even when using TM Forum components and APIs.
By advancing a standardized product model and lifecycle, this Catalyst project empowers the entire telecom ecosystem to:
Phase 1 of the project successfully addressed Layer 2 bitstream access—improving lifecycle visibility, aligning stakeholders, and simplifying integration through a common model.
Phase 2 goes further, expanding the scope to treat broadband as an access service and pushing interoperability across the ecosystem. The result is a model that access providers and software vendors can implement once—reducing duplication and enabling broader adoption.
This would enable telcos to move faster, partner more easily, and scale new offerings with confidence.
Our involvement in this initiative reflects ZIRA’s long-standing commitment to industry collaboration and digital enablement. By contributing our expertise in service orchestration and partner lifecycle management, we’re helping shape a framework that will allow communication service providers to launch new digital services faster and enter new markets more efficiently.
Through OpenAPI-driven integration and modular product architecture, ZIRA’s platform supports telcos in becoming agile, partner-ready, and future-proof.
The outcomes of Phase 2 will be shared at DTW Ignite in Copenhagen—where the future of telecom takes center stage. If you’re curious about how industry collaboration is driving real-world impact and want to learn more about our role in enabling telco partnerships, visit us at Booth #326.
