From Sarajevo to more than 30 countries worldwide

Thirty years ago, few could have imagined that a company founded in Sarajevo would one day develop innovative software solutions for leading telecommunications operators around the world. Three decades later, ZIRA has marked 30 years in business and a journey that has taken the company to the global market.

ZIRA celebrated this milestone in Sarajevo in August 2026, together with its employees, clients, partners, and friends. The evening was dedicated to the people who have shaped the company since its founding in 1996, as well as to the vision that has taken a company from Bosnia and Herzegovina to international markets.

Addressing the guests, ZIRA Group CEO Emir Bukvić reflected on the company’s beginnings and the decision that shaped its development.

“From the very beginning, we decided that we did not want to be importers of technology but creators of it. We believed that we could develop solutions for the global market from Bosnia and Herzegovina. Today, when we look back at the journey we have taken, it is clear that our people, knowledge, and culture of continuous learning have been our greatest strengths. That is why I believe the best years for our company are still ahead,” said Mr. Bukvić.

What began three decades ago with around fifteen people is today a company with more than 250 employees and offices in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Türkiye. More than 50 telecommunications operators and digital service providers across more than 30 countries use ZIRA’s solutions and products, processing more than three billion transactions every day.

Through a documentary film, conversations with employees, and the presentation of the First 30: Then. Now. Next. monograph, the evening told the story of the people, decisions, and values that have shaped the company’s development over the past three decades.

Speaking about the significance of the milestone, Ešref Kenan Rašidagić, a representative of the ownership structure of ZIRA Group, said that celebrating 30 years of successful business was an opportunity to express gratitude and recognize all employees, partners, and associates whose work, dedication, and contribution have been part of the company’s growth and success.

“ZIRA was born from an idea, but it grew because of people. Over three decades, technology, markets, and the way we work have changed, but one thing has remained the same—the belief that lasting value is built through knowledge, responsibility, and mutual trust. We are grateful to everyone who has been part of this journey, as well as to those who continue to build our vision,” said Mr. Rašidagić.

As a gesture of appreciation to the employees, partners, and guests who were part of the anniversary celebration, the evening concluded with a concert by regional music star Nina Badrić.

As it enters its fourth decade, ZIRA Group continues to develop digital solutions for the global market, staying true to the idea on which it was founded 30 years ago: that world-class software solutions can be developed in Bosnia and Herzegovina and recognized around the world.
